Head Phantom
The head phantom simulates blood flow in the human head inside an MRI machine. It was designed and built in a couple of days. Previous models were custom machined out of acrylic, but do to time and cost constraints we made this on out of a plastic cookie jar we found at Target for $ 10. Tube supports were fabricated on the rapid prototype machine. It was sent to Chicago in the morning on Amtrak and arrived by 3:00 PM. to meet a critical deadline.
